West Indies A struggled to end Day 1 of the Second Unofficial Test at 212 for 8 after winning the toss and batting first at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent.
The hosts were in a bad shape at 130 for 6 but opener Kraigg Brathwaite provided stiff resistance at his end and got some useful runs along with the lower half.
Brathwaite stayed unbeaten scoring 66 after facing as many as 297 balls with 7 fours. Skipper Veerasammy Permaul came up with an attacking 36 while putting up a stubborn partnership with Brathwaite.
For the Indians, pacers Shami Ahmed, Ashok Dinda and part-time offie Rohit Sharma picked p a couple of wickets each.
